Stags spotted on Heathfield High Street
31 January 2008
Residents have been reporting an increase in the incidence of urban wildlife in Heathfield High Street over the last six weeks. Sightings have included Stags, Deers, Cougars, Lions, Fish, Eagles, Elephants and even a Giant Hippo.
Local scientists initially cited environmental factors, but it has now emerged that the heightened activity is linked to the other unusual visitors to the area that were spotted just before Christmas. These included Naked Women, Armed Warriors, Buddha’s,
Easter Island Heads and even a
Giant Urn.
The trail quickly led back to local company Round Wood Trading after it transpired that the vast majority of the subjects in all the sightings were hand cast in iron.
The seller of high end Home and Garden Features have recently begun to exhibit a selection of their lifelike
statues at 81 Heathfield High Street, causing confusion amongst residents.
“I am truly sorry for any trouble we have caused,” apologised Jason Frost, of Round Wood Trading.
For the last five years Round Wood Trading - who sell nationwide to the trade and public via their extensive delivery network - have traded primarily from their base on Newick Lane, between Mayfield and Heathfield, (East Sussex).
