Zinc

Zinc is the fourth most common metal in use today, often in compound form. These planters are produced from high grade zinc, which provides an attractive, resilient finish.

Please note, however, that as zinc is a compound, the finish may not be a consistent black throughout.

Maintenance

Whilst these planters are particularly suited to indoor planting, they will stand up well to the elements if left outside given the grade of zinc they are produced from. Over a period of time, there is a small chance they may develop rust spots which can be treated immediately. To clean these zinc planters, simply use a damp cloth and a water-vinegar solution.

Planting

These zinc planters do not come with pre-drilled drainage holes. If they are to be used as traditional planters, a layer of shingle should be placed in the base of the pot.

Alternatively, drainage holes can be easily punched or cut in with a household drill. A layer of stones/shingle, such as the Rainbow Stones we stock, across the top soil can look effective.
